At the party, she recounted how she had struggled as an international student in New York. While she was in New York, she couldn’t work and had to manage what she was given at home. She basically lived a hand to mouth life.

Tiwa said when she was around 22, she once lived in a shelter for women with drug Abuse problems in Bed-stuy which is like the hood in Brooklyn.

The Koroba singer then revealed how she and ex-beauty queen, Elizabeth Elohor had gone out together but Tiwa couldn’t afford a meal. So Elizabeth bought food for her and gave her some to take home.

The mother of one further revealed that Elizabeth was the first person she had called when her picture first surfaced in Times square. Tiwa rounded the speech off with an advice saying that we shouldn’t let time rob us of our joy.

Congratulations to the beautiful singer for making it out of that terrible period.
