The match failed to live up to it’s hype and expectations, and Ole Gunnar is no doubt aware that his side squandered chances that could have secured a victory against the Reds..

Liverpool’s defence was full of holes, as they were without a solid centre-back, and had to make do with midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, playing defence.

Speaking in a post-match Interview with BBC Sport, Ole Gunnar said “It was an opportunity missed with the chances we had but then again we were playing a very good side. I’m disappointed but, still, a point is OK if you win the next one.

“We have improved and progressed. It’s not just the result we’re disappointed with, it’s some of the performance. I know these boys can play better.”

With just 1 point from the North-West derby, United are now two points ahead of Manchester City, who moved up to second place after thoroughly thrashing Crystal Palace, in their  4-0 victory. Meanwhile, Liverpool, with just one goal in their last four league games, have dropped to fourth place as Leicester leads them with a point.
