Adekunle Gold Biography
Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adeline Gold, was born on January 28, 1987, as the first child and only son of the family. Adekunle has three sisters. He was born and raised in Ifako-Agege and Ikotun, Lagos State. He hails from a Royal family in Lagos.
His parents are teachers. After his primary and secondary education, he proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic and graduated with a degree in Arts and Industrial Design.
He is the nephew of Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko.
Adekunle Gold started his music career in the teen choir in his church. He got his musical inspiration from legendary musicians like King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey.
He joined a band and wrote his first song in 2007.
Adekunle Gold Career
He went solo and was writing songs behind the scenes until he released Sade, a cover of One Direction’s Story of My Life in December 2014. The song, which was a hit, got a lot of positive reviews. Adekunle followed “Sade” up with other hit songs like Orente and Pick Up.
He sings a fusion of the modern/urban highlife, pop, and indie genres.
Adekunle Gold first met Olamide on a business transaction as a YBNL Nation official designer. It was after the release of Adekunle’s first song, Sade, that Olamide took interest in him and offered him a deal. On March 5, 2015, Adekunle joined the YBNL Nation and he released his first studio album, Gold in July 2016.
Fast forward to 2018, he released his second studio album, “About 30” which is a 14-track album. That same year he was unveiled as the ambassador of Unity Bank.

In January 2019, he got married to singer Simi and their union produced a baby girl born in June 2020, named Adejare. Adekunle Gold rebranded himself and now he calls himself AG Baby.
Adekunle released his highly anticipated third album titled “Afropop Volume 1”. The album has 10 tracks and was released under EMI Records.
