Tekno Biography

Nigerian singer Tekno, whose birth name is Augustine Miles Kelechukwu Edgar, was born on December 17, 1992, in Bauchi State, Nigeria. He was raised by his parents among six siblings. His father is a member of the Nigerian Army, so he grew up in several states including Abuja, Nasarawa, and Kaduna.

Tekno’s Music Career

Tekno’s love for music began at a very young age when he would practice with musical instruments like the piano and guitar. He decided to pursue a career in music.

Tekno was signed under K-Money Entertainment where he released his first single Holiday. In 2012, his performance at an event in Abuja caught the attention of renowned comedian, Julius Agwu.

Tekno was then able to get a recording contract on October 5, 2013. He moved from Abuja to Lagos so he could gain a wider reach.

Tekno later released the hit single “Duro” which was ranked No. 5 on the Capital XTRA’s Afrobeats Chart: Top 10. He also released a remix on 16th November 2015 in which he featured Flavour and Phyno. Later that year, he released another song titled Wash, which was produced by DJ Coublon.

The Duro crooner and his girlfriend Rachel Akosua Garton professionally known as Lola Rae who is also a singer welcomed a child in 2018.
