Manchester City Can Be Back To The Champions League As Their Appeal Date Has Been Scheduled

City about to get back to the Champions League as their appeal date has been scheduled.

The Citizens were axed out of the Champions League by UEFA for breaching Financial fair Play rules, and the sky blues only hope of getting back to the European most valuable tournament is by appealing to the football governing body.

Man City opened an initial appeal but was turned down even before they could explain themselves, but a recent update from CAS has given the Citizens much more hope.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will hear Manchester City’s appeal against a two-season ban from European competitions by UEFA from June 8-10, the Swiss court confirmed on Tuesday.

Despite not winning any major European tournament, Manchester City's hope of getting one increases when they brought in Pep Guardiola, the Spanish manager has won the tournament at Barcelona and his excellent start at the Ethihad which includes a quadruple last year and back to back premier league titles means the club is now much likely to bring home the Champions League.

The current Champions League campaign saw the Citizens beat 13 times champions, Real Madrid 2-1 in the opening leg of the Round of 16 tie away from home, though the current Champions League campaign is suspended indefinitely due to the corona virus outbreak and has no clear decision.

But City will be hoping to clear their scores with the Court of Arbitration for Sport to be able to play in the tournament next year.
