After an intense 16-shot penalty shootout, Middlesbrough won at Old Trafford, despite the fact that United drew first blood with Jadon Sancho’s goal.
Without doubt, United will complain about Matt Crooks equalizer, but their loss was majorly due to their own failures.
Unfortunately, United failed to successfully convert numerous chances despite having 30 attempts, including a penalty kick which Ronaldo missed.
United’s youngster Anthony Elanga then sealed their defeat, when he sent his penalty kick sailing over the crossbar.

With their loss and subsequent dismissal from the FA Cup, United’s best chance at a silverware this season has vanished.
