Newcastle took the lead after their loanee Joe Willock capitalized on a mistake from Leicester defender Soyuncu and scored a goal in the 22nd minute. Paul Dummett then increased their lead by another goal when he jumped higher than Wesley Fofana and connected with the ball to produce a headed goal in the 34th minute.

In the second half of the match, Newcastle continued their rain of goals and managed to put 2 more goals past Leicester’s shot stopper courtesy of  Wilson who scored in the  64th and 73rd minutes of the match.

However, despite having a 4 goal lead against them, the hosts seemed to turn the tables around in the late stages of the game, and managed to reduce the gap by scoring two goals.

Marc Albrighton scores the first goal for Leicester, and Kelechi Iheanacho scored a stunning goal in the 87th minute which seemed to give the Magpies a late shock.

However Leicester joined the goal scoring party a little too late, and in the end all they got were 2 consolatory goals which kept them in 3rd place, while Newcastle led by Steve Bruce moved up to 13th place on the league table, and would be trying to move as high as possible before the season Officially ends.
