Ogun State Police Arrest Woman for Selling 18-Month-Old Baby In Time Of Need

33-year-old woman in Ogun State has been arrested by the police for allegedly selling her 18-month-old baby in time of need.

The suspect, identified as Olaide Adekunle, was apprehended after her husband reported that she had left home with their baby girl, Moridiat Rasaq, but had failed to return.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspect confessed during interrogation that she had sold her baby for N600,000 to someone in Lagos.

She claimed that she had borrowed money from a microfinance bank and was unable to pay back the loan, leading the bank’s agents to threaten her.

The authorities have assured the public that the suspect will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
